1927 Stearman C3B

1927 Stearman C3B

Larry Tobin's 1927 Stearman C3B. It is the oldest flying Stearman. After the Blakesburg fly in Larry flew the Stearman on the original Air Mail route from New York to California in mid September just a couple of weeks after this photo was taken. Unfortunately after completing the trip the Stearman suffered an engine failure and crashed. Fortunately Larry was unhurt and the airplane can be rebuilt with significant progress already made.
