1928 Boeing Model 40C

1928 Boeing Model 40C

The world's only flying 1928 Boeing Model 40C comes in for a landing at Blakesburg. You may remember hearing about this airplane's first post restoration flight earlier this year. It received a lot of attention in the news media and on the internet. The Boeing was restored by Addison Pemberton from a wreck found in Oregon. Addison said the airplane contains about 50 of the original 30,000 parts, mostly hinges and door handles. It flew for the first time in 2008. It looks a lot better than the original build. The Boeing was at Osh Kosh but was not part of the flying demos and you had to know where to look for it to find it. That is the advantage of Blakesburg. You won't have to hunt to find it and usually you will get to see it fly. Addison is from Spokane, Washington where the airplane is based. His website is www.pembertonandsons.com
